Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in America. She is an actor, singer and dancer. Her career began with Broadway career in musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. She was awarded an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Play for playing Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of well-known directors and actors in stage films and television. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career by working on new projects. Ashford will be next starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is in the production for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson. The film is scheduled to air on Disney DTC in the form of a Hulu Original. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford will make a return appearance on Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will serve as the creators of the musical. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. Ashford was a part of two seasons of popular CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. She has also appeared in Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first part in the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for a Tony Award. Ashford is a Denver origins native, and now splits her time in Los Angeles.
